How do you get rust off of appliances?

I have quite a few appliances that are rusted and don’t know how to get it off. Any advice?

Make a paste of salt and lemon juice. Put on the area and let sit a bit and then wipe off. Depending on how set in the rust is, you may have to use a scrubbing pad for non stick pans(not brillo!).
